Tresviso is one of the most singular villages in Cantabria: 16 residents, a single access road built in 1981 (before that you could only reach it on foot from Urdón), and a high position deep in the eastern massif of the Picos de Europa. Its Bejes-Tresviso picón blue cheese (PDO) is one of its emblems.
From the village starts the climb up Pico Cabeza Vigueras (1,342 m), one of the more accessible summits of the eastern massif. It’s a full day’s route, around 5–6 hours return, over the bare ground typical of the Picos, with outstanding views towards the Urdón gorge, the Cuera ridge and, on clear days, the Cantabrian Sea.
As an alternative to the summit, simply driving up to Tresviso is an experience in itself: the road climbing from La Hermida has dramatic bends and a viewpoint at every turn. It’s 45 minutes from Alles.
