La Franca beach, in the Asturian municipality of Ribadedeva, is a wide shell well sheltered by cliffs on both sides. Fine, golden sand, with the mouth of the Cabra river crossing its eastern end. At low tide the beach doubles in size, leaving a sandy bed that’s very comfortable for families.
Its orientation keeps it more sheltered from the swell than the open beaches of Llanes, which makes it good for swimming. Parking, beach bars in season, and access for people with reduced mobility.
Twenty-five minutes from Alles, it’s the nearest beach. It pairs well with a visit to Colombres and the Pindal cave, both five to ten minutes away.
