Buelna beach, in the municipality of Llanes, is a long stretch of sand with one of the most recognisable sea views in eastern Asturias: the Picón del Castru, a rocky islet rising a few metres off the shore that serves as a visual marker from anywhere on the beach.
It’s an open beach with regular swell — fine for swimming if you take care, and popular with intermediate surfers. Low tide uncovers rocks and pools at either end, perfect for exploring with children.
Basic facilities in high season and parking by the access path. Thirty minutes from Alles, easy to combine with a visit to the village of Buelna or with nearby La Franca beach.
